1. Change The Default Router Login Information

Changing these details and ensuring that the password is at least 15 characters long and a mixture of letters/numbers and special characters is the first step to protecting your network.
Consider also hiding your network so others can’t try to access it, which you can do by setting up your router so it doesn’t broadcast your network name (SSID).
2. Keep your router in a secure location
Routers should be kept locked away where access is limited.
3. Use Wireless Protected Access 2 (WPA2)
There are usually a few options on your router for passwords, and you want to make sure that you’re using an encryption protocol. If it’s an older router, it may be set to an outdated, extremely hackable encryption protocol WEP.
Double check your network settings to clarify if you’re using the best encryption protocol available to you.
4. Set Up Private and Public Access WIFI
If your business needs a public WiFi option for customers or vendors to access, set up a second network specifically for this purpose!
Ensure employees are connecting to the secure network and not the public network, especially when accessing sensitive business data.
5.Update Your Router Firmware
Like all systems and software, the firmware on your router or wireless access point can become out of date. Ensure that you have installed the latest firmware to protect you, your staff and customers.
